Two-day weekend course on the simplified flat printing process. With reference to the exhibition Brasil! Brasil! The Birth of Modernism.

The focus is on experimentation! With the simplified printing process Gum Print, we play with different shapes and colors on the image format and find unexpected image motifs with randomness and overprinting. The technical and chemical processes in the flat printing process are addressed and played through step by step. With the initial selection of images for the templates, we refer to the current exhibition Brasil! Brasil! The Birth of Modernism at the Zentrum Paul Klee, whereby we take up the theme of the Brazilian search for identity at the beginning of the 20th century and specifically the associated appropriation of indigenous visual languages and Afro-Brazilian lifeworlds in certain works of art.

Two weeks before the start of the course, we will inform you by e-mail whether the course has reached the minimum number of participants. If the course cannot take place, you will be refunded the course fee.
