Klee's angel.

Explore Paul Klee's world! Around 80 works from the collection, supplemented by photographs, wall texts, treasures from the archive such as Klee's record collection and films, provide an overview of Klee's life and work.

In addition, analogue and digital mediation formats are constantly being developed in the exhibition, for example the podcast series on Klee's favourite composers or a film with excerpts from our oral history archive. The works and archives change regularly so that you can immerse yourself more deeply in the Klee cosmos with every visit.

In FOKUS you can discover selected aspects of Paul Klee's work or other artists from around the world who are related to Klee. The series begins with a focus on Klee's famous depictions of angels. His angels are not perfect messengers from heaven. They are beings between this world and the hereafter with very human characteristics: They are forgetful and still ugly, childlike or sometimes devilish.

Kosmos Klee. The collection

The permanent exhibition Kosmos Klee. The Collection offers visitors a chronological overview of Klee's artistic oeuvre and presents around seventy works as well as biographical material and archive items, which are regularly changed.
Smaller focus exhibitions with a thematic reference to Paul Klee and his work are shown in one room at a time.
